Before you invest in a car audio system, it’s worth it to do a lot of research, a lot of shopping around and to fully understand what you’re getting before putting any money down.
If you want the best sound quality from your car audio system, it has nothing to do with the size of your car audio speakers. It has everything to do with the quality. Beyond an amplifier, you’ll also need to invest in speakers, woofers and sub-woofers. Again, and this couldn’t be stressed enough, size is not the issue, quality is! Forget the gigantic ghetto blaster speakers, a modest 12-inch subwoofer should be more than enough for everyone’s listening enjoyment.
When looking for car audio CD and DVD players, all you really need is no-skip players. The difference in sound quality from one player to the next is pretty marginal. A CD/DVD player is ideal and makes for easier car installation.
When it comes to the viewing screen, again, size doesn’t really matter. Having a 32-inch plasma screen in your car might be impressive to some, but do you really want that distraction when you’re on the road?
And, if you have an MP3 player, all you have to do is plug it into your audio system by way of an FM modulator and the music plays right on your radio.
Unfortunately, when it comes to car audio system theft, there’s not much you can do to protect your system from being taken. However, if you do have an effective vehicle security system, a car alarm should do the trick of scaring a thief off before he takes off with your system.
If your audio system does get stolen, most car audio parts have serial numbers so it’s easier to track it down in used audio shops.
When it comes right down to it, how you get into the music you like is entirely a personal decision. And, although sound quality is important, getting the sound quality that you like best is what’s you’re essentially after when it comes to a car audio system.
